Gardaí Seek Assistance With Burglary, Hit And Run And Assault Incidents

GARDAÍ are looking for information from the public about a burglary, a hit and run and assault incidents which occurred in Tralee recently.

On Saturday night, a house in the Monavalley area was broken into between 10.30pm and 4.30am. Gardaí are asking for any witnesses who think they may have seen any suspicious activity or anything unusual to come forward with information.

Yesterday afternoon (Sunday), in the Square, there was an unprovoked assault on a young male. The incident occurred at about 2.30pm.

A male wearing a tracksuit ran up to the other male and hit him, causing bruising to the victim’s face. The CCTV was not covering the area at that time.

They are also looking for information on a hit and run which occurred on the outskirts of Tralee, on the Castlemaine road at 2.15pm on January 12. A grey Renault, travelling in direction of Castlemaine, was hit by a blue car travelling in the direction of Tralee. The driver of the blue car failed to stop after the crash. No one was injured but considerable damage was done to the car.

Gardaí are also investigating five burglaries which occurred in the Killorglin area between 9am on Saturday night and 10pm Sunday morning.

The burglars forced entry through windows and doors which had been secured by the owners. All rooms in the houses were searched, and items such as jewellery, cash, electrical appliances and even a half-empty bottle of aftershave were taken. No one was in the houses at the time.
