Gardai Seize €5,000 Of Suspected Cocaine And €13,000 In Cash In South Kerry

The cash seized by gardai in their search of a house in Kenmare on Wednesday.

AS part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the South Kerry area, Gardaí have arrested a man in his 30s and seized approximately €5,000 worth of suspected cocaine over €13,000 in cash.

Shortly after 5.30pm on Thursday, Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit executed a search warrant at a house in the Kenmare area and seized €5,000 worth of suspected cocaine, which will now be sent for analysis. During the search, Gardaí also seized over €13,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and brought to Killarney Garda Station where he was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.  He has since been released and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
