GARDAI in Tralee are asking dog owners to be conscious of the heat when taking their pets in their vehicles.

On Monday evening, Tralee gardai received a report of a dog left unattended in the back of a car for over two hours. The windows were slightly ajar, but it was still very hot in the vehicle.

The dog was removed and taken to a local vet and is now in good health. Gardai are asking people carrying their pets in their vehicles to be conscious of the heat in the car and not to leave them in the car during hot weather.
