GARDAÍ are warning the public after they received reports about strange hoax calls to landlines.
People are getting phone calls from a person claiming to be from a business in Grafton Street, ringing to let them know their nephew has been arrested and he has been taken to Dundrum Garda Station.
They then ask the person to ring 999 to be put through to the station.
Gardai said a number of people had contacted them to say they got these calls.
The person does not ask for bank details or any personal information and it’s not clear what the motive for the calls is.
