GARDAI are asking the public to be wary of conmen operating in the Kerry area recently.
The men go from house to house in vans, usually targeting older people, offering guttering, house maintenance and pavement work.
Most of them are not legitimate and are scamming people for large amounts of money. Gardai are asking the public to be vigilant, ask for identification and take note of vehicle registrations.
Gardai say there has been a few incidents of this type of scam reported to them in the past week and are asking the public to contact them if they are suspicious of any callers.
