IF you’re planning on getting fit and healthy for the new year, then mark this date in your diary.
This year, the annual Kerins O’Rahillys 10k run and 5k fun run is held in association with FBD Insurance and will be run to honour the memory of Charlie Kerins.
It will once again take place from the clubhouse at Strand Road on Sunday, January 26, at 11am. This is a chip-timed event opened to runners and walkers. There are individual men’s and women’s categories and a teams of four event.

The route is similar to other years taking in Ballyvelly, The Kerries, Knockanish culminating in a lap of Cahills Park before crossing the finish line in the club house.
There is a finishers medal for all participants. Registration is €20 for the 5k race and €25 for the 10k. People can register online by clicking here on Saturday, January 25 between 2pm and 8pm at the clubhouse or on the morning of the race between 8am and 10.30am.
