THE Community Centre in Ballyheigue was the place to be on Wednesday as the children of Glenderry NS brought their presentation of ‘The Late, Late Toys Show’ to the village.

Over 500 people were in attendance and were treated to song, dance and music.

Brendan Fuller was MC for the night and he chatted on stage to children about their favourite books, toys and  interests . Tubridy better look out as Brendan took the role with gusto.

The show began at 7pm and after three hours of great entertainment, the show finished at 10pm.

Nobody left early as Brendan introduced the various classes and individuals. Ms Supple, Ann O’Mahony, Joe Burkett and Cara Flahive spoke about their favourite Christmas presents from their youth.

Brendan was pie-balled, had football kicked at him as he tried to catch them and even was shaved on stage as part of the Movember Challenge.

All agreed after the show that it was a great evening’s entertainment and they’re already looking forward to next year.

Mr. Pierce said that this show would not have been possible without Joe Burkett’s creativity and choreography and Ann Mahony’s musical expertise and advice.

He thanked the staff for the great work they did with the children to bring them to such a high level of performance on the night.

Special mention to Ray Stack who did sound on the night  for free for his old school and ensured whether you were at the back or upfront, you could hear everything.

He thanked Colm McCarthy and Aiden Dineen who ferried pupils to and from the community centre for free also.

The Parents Association were given special mention on the night for organising spot prizes, running the shop and raffles and for the great support they are to the running of all events in the school.

It was a huge team effort and the school is very appreciative of the support   of everyone who attended. Money raised will go towards the purchase of interactive whiteboards.
