AH, the 1980s!

The days when Kerry bate all round them, Liverpool dominated English football, Madonna, Prince and Michael Jackson ruled the charts and Top Of The Pops was the talk of the schoolyard every Friday morning.

It was also the heyday of discos in Tralee with Horan’s and Spirals starting (and ending!) many a romance.

If you missed those days, then The Rose Hotel is encouraging you to dig out those shoulder pads and leg warmers and get set to hit the dancefloor on Friday, January 25 with the Back to the 80’s disco in aid of Kerry Cork Health Link Bus.

The Lee Suite at The Rose Hotel will be transformed for one night only into an 80’s disco with DJ Niall “Botty” O’Callaghan spinning the classics from 10pm until late with a curry supper (acting as a substitute to a trip to The Chuckwagon or the L & A back in the day) served to guests to keep the nostalgia going.

80’s dress is encouraged but not required but there will be a prize for best dressed!  It sounds like the ideal way to banish the January blues and a pair of tickets would make a great Christmas present.

All proceeds from the night will go to the very worthy Kerry Cork Health Link Bus and the Kerry Cancer Support Group.

Tickets are €20pp or make a night of it and enjoy an overnight stay for €70pps including breakfast and tickets to the disco. Tickets are available from reception@therosehotel.com or call The Rose Hotel at 066 7199100 or for more information.
