A GOFUNDME page to help a Waterville man who suffered a traumatic brain injury has already reached halfway to their €50,000 target to help move him to a rehab facility.

Mike Curran was hit by a car in France in late September.  He is in hospital in France and needs to be moved to a rehab facility in the UK and the costs are immense.

At the tail end of a trip of a lifetime, Mike, who is in his early 30s, and girlfriend Sara O’Shea were just weeks away from returning home when tragedy struck.

Between Reims and Paris, Mike was hit by a car and was thrown metres high landing on his head.  As a result of the accident he has suffered five haemorrhages to the brain, bleeding in the lungs, two fractured ribs, a broken nose and broken cheek bone.

Mike now needs urgent rehabilitative care.  The gofundme page is trying to get him that care and they are looking for the public’s help. As of 2pm on Thursday, it had raised nearly €25,000. You can go to the gofundme page by clicking here.
