THE route for the proposed bypass of Adare has been chosen which will ease the frustration of Kerry motorists who regularly use the road to get to Limerick and Dublin.
However, it’ll be a while before they’ll be able to bypass the notorious bottleneck in the pretty Limerick town.
The new motorway will connect Foynes with Rathkeale which will then head for Limerick City bypassing Adare along the way.

However, works are not expected to begin for another five years because of a €300 million land acquisition deal, with completion of the road expected three years after that in 2024.
Tralee motorists travelling to Limerick and Dublin, will get on the motorway near Rathkeale with a spur to Askeaton. The motorway will then bypass Adare and connect with the N20 on the way to Limerick City.
