IT was an emotional Thursday night for all present at Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn’s school hall, for the Sixth Class pupils graduation ceremony.

The class, who began in Junior Infants in 2009, will depart for secondary school this autumn so it was a chance for families to get together and reflect on their eight years in primary school.

Mass was celebrated by Fr Maurice White and Fr Francis Nolan followed by an address by Príomhoide Cáit Uí Chonchúir and the presentation of certs and the Fáinne Ór.

“It’s a lovely occasion and a fitting culmination of their eight years in school,” said Cáit Uí Chonchúir. “We’ll be saying goodbye to a lot of families who have been with us and wishing them well. Hopefully we’ll see their grandchildren in years to come.”

There were 32 pupils graduating from muinteoir Deaglán Ó Cuill’s class and the principal said they were a wonderful group.

“There were different characters, with different talents and qualities which they were happy to share and develop over the years,” she added.

Afterwards there were refreshments while families took photographs to mark the occasion. Scroll down from photos…

All a credit to their school – in the classroom and outside. What talent – hurlers, camogie players, footballers, basketball players, musicians, singers and dancers. All the best for the future.
