‘VIRTUALLY There’, a national exhibition and event tour of work made by artists, children and teachers is currently on show at The Education Centre, Dromtacker.
Launched at the centre last month, the exhibition is based on a project by national arts organisation Kids’ Own which has been running in Northern Irish schools since 2007.
Demonstrating the use of virtual technology to connect studio and classroom, this exhibition showcases work made by children and teachers in collaboration with artists.
Kids’ Own in partnership with The Education Centre, Tralee, will also launch a new phase of online residencies with schools in the county.
Two Kerry primary schools, Ardfert Central NS and Raheen NS, Headford will have the opportunity to participate in a six-week pilot project based on the ‘Virtually There’ model.
Children, who attend these two schools, worked with an artist on Friday, October 24 to create a response to the exhibition and to connect virtually with their respective project artists.
The exhibition is open to the public until November 21. Viewing times are Monday to Friday 10:30am to 2pm, however please contact the centre if you wish to make arrangements to view outside of these hours.
