THE Recovery Haven received a nice Christmas present of €1,857 this week after staff of a business in Manor West held a fundraiser earlier this month.

Halfords were celebrating 10 years in Manor West on December 11 and to mark it they decided to raise funds for a local charity.

“We decided to do it for Recovery Haven because of the amazing work they do,” said Bernie Bartlett Maher, Manager of Halfords Tralee.

“We sold tickets for a bike, donated by Halfords, over the space of four weeks and then held a cakesale on the day of our birthday,” said Bernie who wished to thank businesses who helped out on the day including Kingdom Signs, Garveys Supervalu, Barry’s Bakery, John Lane and Sons, Derry na Flan, CMC Foods and Sandra Fletcher from Halfords in Waterford who helped out on the day.

Dermot Crowley of Recovery Haven expressed the thanks of all at the centre to Halfords for their great efforts and all who contributed. The funds will go towards providing vital services at the cancer support house.
