THREE homes were targeted by thieves who stole home heating oil from tanks in the past week.
Gardaí are warning homeowners to take security measures after a house on the outskirts of Tralee and two homes in Lixnaw were hit.
Although it is unusual for thieves to target oil tanks at this time of year, Gardaí say people should ensure their tanks are locked and to look at buying a gauge which would set off an alarm if there is a sudden and dramatic drop in the tank’s oil level.
