A KERRY woman won a €33,000 Winning Streak bonus when she appeared on the National Lottery TV game show last Saturday.

Helen Griffin from Tralee, was delighted with her winnings which included €8,000 in cash and a Renault Zoe electric car worth €25,000. This win was timely, as she admitted her own car was giving her trouble recently.

Helen wasn’t watching Winning Streak last weekend but a call from her cousin put her wise to the possibility that her name came out of the drum.

Helen had to tune into the show and wait until the end to see her address before she could allow herself to get excited for the show.

She had completely forgot that she had a scratch card with three stars and she left it to her partner Vincent to post the ticket so this possibility slipped her mind.

Helen has been living in Tralee all her life and the part-time civil engineer is a busy mum to her daughter Cáit (9).

Cáit was buzzing with excitement all last week about supporting her mum from the RTÉ audience and was joined by Helen’s partner, of three years, Vincent and her four siblings and their partners and other members of family and close friends. Her siblings are Ger, John, Dan and Karen.

In her spare time Helen loves to walk and is frequently seen on one of the local beaches near her home with the family dog Timmy (a Cavachon). She also likes to read and listen to music. With her winnings from the show Helen wants to book a family holiday for the summer.
