As the largest technology transfer consortium in Ireland, the Bridge Network brings together researchers and innovators from University College Cork, Cork Institute of Technology, Teagasc and the Institute of Technology Tralee, to support the commercialisation of research.
The IT Tralee, Invention of the Year was awarded to Dr. Helena McMahon and Dr. Aleksandra Augustyniak for the NutraECM solution, which has the potential to change how we treat skin ageing in the future and provide the ultimate solution to this issue.
NutraECM is an oral and topical treatment addressing intrinsic or extrinsic skin ageing, targeting collagen and elastin production, boosting dermal fibroblast proliferation and extracellular matrix (ECM) production. The solution has applicability not only for skin, but potentially also in cartilage and bone, where extracellular matrix is required.
