Here’s The Kerry Lads Who Will Be Rose Escorts

THERE’S only just over three weeks until the start of the Rose of Tralee International Festival and four Kerry men are looking forward to it more than most.

Among the over 60 Rose Escorts are four local lads who will cater for their Rose’s every whim.

Thomas Lynch

Returning this year is Thomas Lynch, Castleisland who won the 2017 Rose Escort of the Year. Thomas is a data and analytics consultant in Price Waterhouse Cooper who now lives in Dublin but is looking forward to coming back to Kerry for the event.

Daniel O’Connell

Daniel O’Connell is from Inch and is a Regional Manager in Asset Management (Forestry) who loves the GAA and plays football. He also has an interest in vintage machinery and like restoring tractors.

David O’Connor

David O’Connor is from Ballymacelligott and works in the family business, O’Connor Memorials Ltd as a stonecutter. He spent four years working in Canada but is happy to be home now. His hobbies include walking the dog, soccer and boxing.

Gearoid Sheehan

Finally, Gearoid Sheehan is from Ardfert and comes from a farming background. He’s a big hurling and football fan and spent a summer on a J1 playing both over in New York.

He studied Animal and Crop Production in UCD and now works as an Associate Buyer in Kerry Group. His work sees him travel a bit which he loves.

So they’re the Kerry lads about to have a ball when the Rose of Tralee Festival gets going from August 17 to August 21. They’re in for a busy week!
