NOW that the dust has settled after a hectic weekend, the 33 councillors who will meet at Kerry County Council on June 7 has been decided.
Fianna Fáil is now the largest party with 10 seats, up one from the 2014 local elections. Fine Gael did not have a good day at the polls with just seven candidates elected, down two on 2014.
Sinn Féin are down one seat from 2014 with four candidates elected — two each in Tralee and Listowel. Labour still have two seats — although their second Tralee seat was lost, Marie Moloney won a seat back for the party in Killarney — while ten Independents took seats, up two from 2014.
