WITH the weather expected to be kind, there’s no excuse not to head to town today to sample the fabulous atmosphere at the Tralee Food Festival.

It’s hoped locals will come out, support the festival and have a great time in the process. Saturday’s festivities begin with the regular Farmers Market from 9am to 1pm at the Brandon Car Park.

The Artisan Food Markets in the Square take place from 10am to 6pm featuring some of the best producers from the region, while there will be music and entertainment in the Square. Garvey’s Supervalu is also hosting a Summer Food Fair from 11am to 4pm.

There will also be street food vendors present today from 10am to 10pm on The Mall, where people can enjoy all kinds of delicious stuff.

The Taste Trail is a festival favourite and over 20 venues will be taking part from 12noon to 4pm (see the trail below).

You can pay as you go, but better value is offered from the booklets containing 10 tokens which can be bought for €22 from Tech Co. on Dominick Street, Ugly Mug coffee shop on Edward Street and The Glasshouse on Edward Street.

So why not just head town for a look and you might go home full and looking forward to Sunday’s treats!
