SPA Fenit Community Council have decided to go ahead with the annual Heritage Weekend at the Forge in Churchill and will conform with Government and HSE guidelines for their programme of events.

However, the events on Saturday, August and Sunday August 16 will be restricted somewhat this year.

On Saturday August 15 they will have a Vintage Car Run, beginning at the Forge in Churchill at 7pm and visiting Ardfert and Ballyheigue before returning to Churchill.

At 12 noon on Sunday August 16, it is the turn of the vintage tractors. A variety of makes and models will leave the Forge in Churchill and will travel around the parish returning again to the Forge about 2pm.

A novel introduction this year will be an assessment and valuation of antiques by a panel of experts. They invite all who have antique jewellery, furniture, glass or paintings to bring them along for professional review.

Their panel of experts include Dr. Donal Cahill, Paudie Commane, Billy Nolan and Foley Restoration.

The committee have also arranged the annual dog show which is a great attraction each year and they will also showcase arts and crafts associated with the Heritage of the area.

Their team of stewards will ensure that all protocols will be observed so that all attending can enjoy the programmes and stay safe and well.
