MEMBERS of the Tralee branch of the Irish Cancer Society are asking the public and businesses to support Daffodil Day by buying merchandise or by holding a coffee morning on Friday, March 27.
In 2014 Daffodil Day raised an amazing €3.4m nationally, this year the Society needs to raise their target of €3.5m to continue to be able to provide free nationwide support and information services, fund research and advocacy campaigns.
Volunteers will be out selling the daffodil emblems in town on March 27 and are hoping the public will support this great cause.
Last year there were 293 coffee mornings all around Ireland on Daffodil Day. One in three of us will face cancer so by raising money for Daffodil Day you will help the Irish Cancer Society make sure no one has to face cancer alone.
“We are seeing a big increase in people holding coffee mornings to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society” said Liz Logan, National Campaigns Manager, Irish Cancer Society.
“It’s a really nice thing to do for yourself and your friends and a really easy and fun way to raise money for Daffodil Day. More coffee mornings around the country will help ensure that we can support more people affected by cancer,” she said.
