THE Austin Stacks graphic design department has been at it again over the weekend.
Last time they corrupted the famous Lord Kitchener poster from World War 1 to rally the forces for the Ballincollig game, but this time they’ve adapted a more modern cultural landmark to entice people to head to the game.
Kieran Donaghy and William Kirby are cast in the roles of Jake and Elwood Blues of Blues Brothers fame as the poster declares “we’re putting the band back together for a Cork gig”.

According to the people at Austin Stacks, there is already ten buses booked for the trip to Pairc Ui Chaoimh (click on the poster image to get all the details). With about 50 people in each coach, that’s 500 already travelling, just by bus!
There is still time to get your name in for the trip so get your contact the clubhouse by tomorrow evening.
Incidentally, the backing band for ‘The Blues Brothers’ in the movie were the famous ‘Stax’ recording label’s session musicians.
They could have put their logo in the poster. Same colours, name and everything, see!
