LAST year around 600 people showed up for the Dawn Mass at Annagh Graveyard and organisers are hoping for a similar attendance this year on Easter Sunday at 6am.
Organised by the Curraheen Liturgy Group, it is the third time a dawn mass will ever have been held in the area.
“There will be an Easter fire lighting on the morning, with the fire symbolising the resurrection of Christ. This burial ground is very special to the community as it is such an historical place with many having loved ones laid to rest here,” said Fr Francis Nolan.
After the Mass, everyone will adjourn to the new community room in the church in Curraheen to enjoy breakfast and all are invited to attend on the morning.
