IT looks like Kerry Senior Hurling Championship games could be played again in North Kerry.

In 2015, due to the unavailability of Austin Stack Park because of redevelopment work, all rounds of the senior championship were played in the heartland of Kerry hurling.

The Secretary of County Committee, Peter Twiss, has said “even though Austin Stack park will be back in use next year I see no reason why some of the earlier rounds cannot be continued to be played in the North Kerry venues.”

“Bringing these games out to the local venues proved to be a great success,” he added.

This hurling championship’s tour around grounds in Abbeydorney, Causeway, Kilmoyley and Lixnaw garnered a lot of praise for the fantastic atmosphere at the games.

Meanwhile, it is also believed that Austin Stack Park will reopen on March 6, for a National League double header involving Kerry v Donegal in football and Kerry v Wexford in hurling.
