A CHURCHILL woman has already raised over €3,500 in a fundraiser in memory of her brother who passed away six years ago.

75 year old Ina Tuite Ferris, sister of the late Stocky O’Mahony, who died of Motor Neurone Disease, in March 2015 at the age of 72, has decided to shave her head on Sunday, May 30, to raise much needed funds for Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA).

She set up a justgiving fundraising page (which can be accessed by clicking here) last week for the headshave where people had donated €3,600 by Tuesday morning.

“Words cannot describe the gratitude my family and I have for all those who helped Stocky on his journey. It’s now our chance to help all those suffering from this deadly disease,” said Ina.

The late Stocky O’Mahony.

“Stocky had no interest in the trappings of wealth or material possessions, he just seemed to collect friends; he had them everywhere. I am appealing to you his friends to help us donate to this very worthy cause. This one’s for you Stocky, we miss you everyday; life is not the same without you!”

The event will be taking place on Sunday May 30th. Unfortunately, due to the current restrictions they will be unable to have anyone attend in person, so instead the event will be live streamed. Details of this will be revealed closer to the time.
