Increase In Bicycle Thefts In Tralee Area Over Past Number Of Weeks

GARDAI are appealing to bicycle owners in Tralee to be vigilant there has been an increase in the number of bikes stolen in the area over the past number of weeks.

Gardai say the majority have been stolen from streets and carparks, but there has been an increase in thefts from residential settings.

Between Monday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 13, a bike was stolen from the bicycle bay at the Manor West Retail Park car park.

It is a distinctive orange mountain bike with ‘Cube’ written on it. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the theft or if they see the bike to contact them at Tralee Garda Station on 066-7102300.

Gardaí advise cyclists to lock the bike to an immovable object in a well-lit area and to take a photo of the bike with the serial number, as gardai can’t return the bicycle to owners if the serial number isn’t recorded.
