Increase In People Contacting Local Samaritans Branch This Year

THE Kerry Branch of Samaritans are holding an event in the Meadowlands Hotel this Friday at 7.30pm.

The event comes as the local branch reveals that to date in 2018, they have received 14,700 contacts.

These contacts include telephone calls, SMS  message and face to face callers to the branch at Moyderwell Tralee. This is a marginal increase on the number of contacts for the same period in 2017.

At the event on Friday, Evelyn O’Connell and Readin O’Connor from Jigsaw will speak on panic and anxiety in children and adolescents, Fiona  Doyle will speak on sexual abuse and grooming, while Vanessa Lacey will speak on the topic of Transgender

Vanessa Lacey and Fiona Doyle will outline the difficulties they encountered in their own lives and how they managed to overcome them.

The aim of this event is to reach out to the general public i.e parents, guardians, teachers, students, people in the caring profession or any person who may encounter any of the above issues in their daily lives. This event is open to all members of the public and is  free of charge.
