THE Gleneagle INEC Arena have today announced details of when and where their series of December gigs will be streamed.

The December gigs which are currently being pre-recorded, will be streamed for free via the new Gleneagle INEC Arena Player in late December and across the months of January and February.

The newly launched Gleneagle INEC Arena Player can be accessed on any smart device via the INEC website (www.inec.ie). It will be a virtual library of artist performances, podcasts, interviews and behind the scenes footage.

The December performances are funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, under the Live Performance Support Scheme. They will provide a total of 893 days of employment for 205 people – a mixture of artists, technical crew and support staff.

Highlights will include a performance by Seamus Begley and The Sibin Orchestra which will be streamed on Christmas Day and a special one hour set with Gavin James which is due to air on New Year’s Eve.

Mark Egan, Director of the Gleneagle INEC Arena said: “Gavin James rang in the New Year with us last year and it was a fantastic celebration. This year, we have to do things differently and we hope that by streaming his concert on New Year’s Eve, people will tune in to enjoy his music and celebrate in anticipation of returning to a live music performance in the not too distant future.”

“We would once again like to thank the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media for their support. We would also like to thank the various artists that have reduced their performance costs in order to make these gigs happen. These are unprecedented times for the live performance industry and supports such as this are vital to ensure the industry remains intact post Covid.”

  1. It is a pity that the Celtic woman concert cannot be streamed.
Had ticket for last year and had to cancel due to illness, they are my favourite group and i have all their albums and i would love to have a recording of this concert.
Hopefully my health will allow me to go to that.
They are a superb group and I would love to see this concert
