THE volunteers at the ‘Inspired’ centre in Friary Lane received certificates on Tuesday after competing a first aid course during August.
“We completed the course funded by Kerry Respite Care in August,” said volunteer Yvonne O’Brien.
“It was for the volunteers and support workers – who are all family carers – run over three days. It was a very useful course and we’ve been able to put it into practices here in Inspired. It’s of paramount importance that anyone working in a centre would have an occupational first aid experience,” said Yvonne.
The certificates were presented by Sharon Keane from Kerry Respite Care.
Participants in the Inspired project with an intellectual disability, aspire towards active citizenship, inclusion in the local community, contributing through meaningful work, learning relevant lifeskills,participarting in business and creating through art, craft and drama.
