SOME much-needed good news for the weekend.

With rising COVID cases and fears we’re heading for future restrictions if this trend continues, a bit of fine weather is more than welcome this weekend.

There’s no excuse for staying inside as it’s set to be warm, dry and sunny. Friday will see the best of the temperatures, according to Met Eireann, with clear skies and highs of up to 23° in Tralee,  but winds will be fresher by the coast.

Saturday will also be a lovely day with sunshine, hardly any wind and temperatures of up to 22°. Sunday will see a slight drop in temperatures with highs of 20° so still warm enough for that barbecue.

Looking further ahead, Monday also looks dry with sunny spells before spells of rain later in the week.

The fine weather is especially welcome at a time when health authorities tell us many of the new COVID-19 cases are coming from private house gatherings indoors. Please stay safe this weekend and be responsible if you must have people visit your home.
