‘THEN and Now- A Critical Reflective Exhibit to explore Contemporary Ireland’ was a student led initiative held at the ITT on Tuesday afternoon.

It explored how the 1916 Rising and events since then have impacted on those living in Ireland in 2016.

The students were encouraged to reflect on their own personal perspectives and attempt to understand for themselves where and how their view had been informed.

Two exhibition areas were created; a multisensory walk and a performance space where musicians contributed to the experiment.

Students challenged to engage others through exhibition to reflect for themselves. These students journeyed in many different thematic directions.

First and 3rd year BA Early Childhood Care and Education students came on board developing ideas on the experiences of children in 1916 and 2016.

During the developmental process the focus was always on a multi-sensory experience so the Department of Creative Media and Information Technology were invited to engage.

Other classes involved were the BA Youth and Community Work Practice 3rd year students, BA Creative Writing for Digital Media 2nd year students, BA (Honours) in TV, Radio and New Media Broadcasting 2nd yr students, BA Early Childhood Care and Education 1st year and 3rd year students, BA Interactive Media 4th year students,BA Music Technology 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students,Sound Engineering Erasmus student-soundscape of the rising.
