IT Tralee lecturers and students launch ‘Christmas on Campus’.

Some of the main events are, a Guinness Book of Records World Attempt at making the longest Christmas Cracker Chain. This involves over 800 students gathering in the Library of the North Campus of the Institute.

“This is a very unique opportunity for students and staff to participate and if successful to be part of a world record, so it is very exciting,” said President of the ITT Students Union Tralee, Ben Slimm.

“It will be a great achievement if we can get the Institute listed in the Guinness Book of Records for 2016. Considering all the proceeds from the day go to charity, it makes it all so much more worthwhile,” he said.

Another attraction is the ‘Iron Stomach Competition’. Entrants have to try and eat up to ten courses of unusual and disgusting combinations of foods without being sick!

This is a very popular competition and the reaction from the participants and spectators to the various dishes is very entertaining.

There will also be music from local band Q14, Lecturer versus Student Christmas Quiz, Christmas Karaoke on the day, Christmas Photo booth, plus lots of Christmas jumpers and Santa hats!
