TWO men got on their bikes recently to help out a local group helping adults with intellectual disabilities.

Joe Moriarty from Tralee and Ray Moynihan from Killarney visited the Inspired centre at Brandon Place in town on Friday to present a cheque for €8,200.

They took part in a cycle in Spain and Catalonia last week where they travelled 567 km over five days, including over 7,000 metres of climbs. Thankfully, conditions were agreeable for the lads, with temperatures between 20 and 26 degrees.

Joe and Ray have completed a number of charity cycling trips in Spain over the years  and decided to choose Inspired as the beneficiary this time.

“We want to thank Joe and Ray for everything they’ve done,” said the Inspired Centre Manager, Liz Maher. “It was a massive undertaking. We set a target of €5,000 but we went way beyond it. A lot of companies around town also contributed to the fundraiser as well as staff, the participants here and parents,” she added.
