MitchelsINTERMEDIATED CHAMPIONSHIP.

John Mitchels 1-8
Ardfert 1-9

With a very much depleted team we put up a gallant performance away to Ardfert in the second round last Saturday evening. Ardfert had the aid of a strong breeze in the first half but for long periods of the half we were the more dominant team and should have gone in at half time more than a point in front. Half time score John Mitchels 1-4 Ardfert 0-6.

The turning point in the second half was a goal for Ardfert from a penalty and even though we got back on level terms near the end , Ardfert got a late point to leave them a point in front at full time. Full time score John Mitchels 1-7 Ardfert 1-8.

UNDER 14 BOYS : FEILE WEEKEND

We had no game this week as we prepare for our trip to Feile in Galway next Friday. Preparations have been going well and hopefully the lads will really enjoy what will no doubt be a weekend to remember. Our Host club St Gabrials are based in Kilconnell which is close to Balinasloe.

On Friday we play two games in Woodmount the first at 5pm against Athenry from Galway. At 6.20 we take on Aylmer Gaels from Kildare. The team will then take part in a Mini parade organised by Padraig Pearses Gaa club.

On Saturday morning we take on our hosts St Gabrials at 11am in Woodmount. The cup/shield quarter finals take place that evening in Woodmount from 4pm with the winners going on to Ballyhaunis on Sunday for the semi finals and finals. Check our Facebook page next weekend for updates on these games.

We hope to have a presentation of the new jerseys and gear this week where all the people who have given generous sponsorship will be invited to attend. Date will be finalised in the next few days.

Table Quiz. We would like to thank all those who supported our Quiz last Thursday evening as part of the fund raising for Feile and to our Quiz master Kieran Moriarty.

Last Sunday was a glorious day in our new football complex and training was great. Killian, Mark, Adam and Aizac put in a hard session and showed some great skill. Last Thursday we played go games in Na Gael and in each of the games we improved our tackling and passing with Ben, William, Sam and Luke doing great work along with the rest of the team members.

On the Sunday before that we went to Beaufort and played a challenge game and we did very well with Ted, Cody, Nadal and James showing major improvement and playing really well, the rest of the teams had great scores as well and drinks and a treat went down really well at the end. See you all next Sunday.
