UNDER 10 BOYS

On Saturday 27th The John Mitchels Under 10s boys team travelled to Ballyamc grounds to compete in the Castleisland District Blitz. On a day of brilliant sunshine the Mitchels U10s boys did the club proud, displaying skill, courage, determination and top class score taking.

Our first game against Knock/Brosna was a very tight game with our backs holding their opposition to just one score. The next game saw us pitted against Scartaglen. We played fantastic football with our mid-field totally dominant throughout. We ran out convincing winners setting us up for our final group game against Cordal.

The heat was getting to our players but our strong panel came to the fore with every member giving their best when called on. Once again we proved too strong for the opposition in our third game. This set us up for our final with Castleisland Desmonds. It took us a little time to settle but we never panicked.

Our forwards gave a great display of score taking. The whole panel contributed and we ran out worthy champions by 6 points. Well done to all involved and thanks to all the parents who gave great support on the day. Special thanks to the 4 under 8s who played with us on the day.

Panel on the day: Conor Kerins (Captain), Andrew Kerins, Jessie Duggan, Rory Clifford, Cian Jones, Adam Bolla, Sean Corkery, Ciaran White, Brian O’ Donnell, Jack Flaherty, Darragh O’ Callaghan, Ciaran Foran, Darragh Cournane, Cian O Se, Darragh Murphy, Catahal Murphy, Paddy McMahon.
Training continues on Thursday evening at 7pm.
