Mitchell’s played excellent football throughout the 2nd half and further goals from Jarlath Carney and Peter Murphy saw us run out deserving winners on a final score of 3-11 to 2-10.

U12 LADIES:
We played our Round 2 game at home to Castleisland Desmonds last Monday evening in windy Ballyseedy. This was a very tight match with both teams contesting every ball and it ended all square on a score of 1-5 to 2-2 a draw 1st point on the board. We now play Glenflesk on May 30th at home and hopefully will continue to impress.

U14 LADIES:
Last Thursday evening we played Kerins O Rahillys in the Div 5 A final at windy Ballyseedy with warm evening sunshine. Sometimes we say that a match had everything certainly this game had with wonderful scores, passing and blocking.

Mitchels played with the wind in the first half and raced into an early lead notching up 2-2 before Rahillys got off the mark.

We continued to press for scores and had 3-4 on the scoreboard at half time with Rahillys keeping in touch with 1-4, would this be enough against in strong wind in a very fast end to end game.

In the second half we let Rahillys in for an early goal and the game ebbed and flowed for the next 20 mins or so with Rahillys reducing our lead bit by bit.

Entering the last 5 mins Mitchels were a point up when Rahillys struck for the killer goal and despite every effort Mitchels were unable to get another score and went down 3-4 to 3-6 on the night.

The girls never gave up and were out on their feet at the end of a very good game of football with the crowd kept on their toes until the final whistle. A very tough game where our players gave it their all and can be very proud of their performance. Keep the heads up girls there will be another day.

The County League is now foinished and we will train for North Kerry league, U13 and U 15 County Championships and Town League. Training continues every Monday and Thursday.

U16 LADIES:
We have a break now from matches until after the Junior Certificate. Training will continue every Monday and Thursday for the North Kerry League, Town Championship and U 15 Championship which will take place over the Summer..

The hot weather had no effect on our boys they played very well with some excellent passing and scoring well done to all. Training continues next Sunday morning from 10.30am to 12.00pm until then KEEP ON PRACTICING!!

U 10 Boys:
Another great Sunday morning training at Mitchels with another big turn out with Nathan, Cody, Jack, James and Paschal doing good work. We worked hard on the skills we needed to improve on and at the end we had a great competitive game. All the lads put in a session and worked hard with the tackle bags. Next Saturday John Mitchels seniors are playing the Crokes in our own pitch and the under 10 are doing a guard of honour for the great “Gouch” and putting on an exhibition game at half time so we would like to meet at 6.00 on Saturday evening and make sure you have your gum shields. At this stage I would like to thank the parents who took part in the bag packing it was a great success. Training again next Sunday and have a good week.
