SENIOR MEN CO LEAGUE –  Round 10:
We played Dingle last Saturday evening in a vital Round 10 match against Dingle away in what was a beautiful summer’s evening and perfect playing conditions for football.

Mitchels opened the game at a blistering pace scoring 5 points in a row all from play – the opening point from Conor Hurley, 2 from James Duggan and one each from George Bastible and Stevie O’Mahony.

However Dingle finished the 1st quarter the better scoring 2 points and a Brian O’Connell goal leaving the teams level after the 1st quarter, Dingle 1-02, John Mitchels 0-05.

Mitchels rallied again in the 2nd quarter scoring 4 points followed by 2 Dingle points from play before half-time leaving the half time score Dingle 1-04, Mitchels 0-09.

In contrast to the 1st half Dingle dominated the early exchanges in the 2nd half scoring 5 points from play.

Mitchels stayed in touch with 2 Alan O’Donoghue points from play which was followed by 2 Dingle points in succession and as the game seemed to be drifting away from John Mitchels Alan O’Donoghue scored a well taken goal leaving the score Dingle 1-11, John Mitchels 1-11.

With the teams level it was Dingle that drove ahead scoring 3 points from play in succession. With time running out a well worked move resulted in Seanie Moloney passing off the ball to James Duggan who duly put it into the Dingle net leaving both teams level with only minutes remaining.

In a nail biting finish neither team succeeded in scoring leaving the final score Dingle 1-14, John Mitchels 2-11.
