SENIOR MEN CO LEAGUE –  Round 11
The concluding round of the County League on Sunday last saw Mitchels host Milltown-Castlemaine.

While we were short a number of players, Mitchels started with much of the possession and opened the scoring with a Jonathan O’Halloran point.

Milltown Castlemaine then replied with 4 unanswered points before James Duggan, Alan O Donoghue and Conor Hurley brought it back to a one point deficit.

Milltown then extended the lead but 2 points apiece from Alan and James saw Mitchels ahead 9 points to 7 at half time.

George Bastible opened the scoring in the second half with a good long range point, Milltown replied with 3 points of their own.

They followed that with a goal to lead by 3. Further Mitchels points , 2 from George Bastible and James Duggan re-dressed the balance but a second Milltown goal gave the visitors the impetus to see the game out on a score line of Mitchels 0 -14 Milltown Castlemaine 2- 14.

Congratulations and well done to Mikey Walsh and Cian O’ Brien and their first senior start.
Mitchels look forward to a third consecutive season in Division 1 which is an indication of steady progress.

With this experience and growing maturity, this panel of players can continue to develop. The ambition the players set for themselves  will largely decide what the future holds. In the meantime a semi-final of the Tralee Town Championship against Ballymac awaits. Date and venue to be decided.
