Kelliher Garage Minor Central Region Division 2 Final:
Mitchels captured the Central Region Division Two title sponsored by Kellihers Toyota Rathass this afternoon played in a rain and windswept Austin Stacks Park.

Played before a large attendance Mitchels led by double scores at the break 8pts to 4pts having played with the aid of the gale.

However this game was won by a sterling second half  performance into the teeth of the wind. Scoring 1-7 with a Michael Kelliher penalty being the highlight. Churchill never gave up and a late goal brought the margin down to a goal. Mitchels defence stood firm and the final whistle was greeted with great celebration. Captain Cian Holden accepted the shield on behalf of the team.

U 16 LADIES:
We played Listowel on Thursday last in the North Kerry league in wet and windy conditions in a top of the table clash at Ballyseedy. This was a tight game from start to finish with every score hard to come by. In a very close first half we went in at half time all even at 1-1 to 4 points.

The second half continued to be a tough game and Mitchels tried hard to get ahead but Listowel were not going to give in and with the teams at 1-4 to 1-4 Listowel were awarded a penalty with the resultant kick going over the bar to give Emmets a point lead. Mitchels  threw everything forward and despite hitting the crossbar and station could not get a winner.

Final score Mitchels 1-4 listowel 1-5. Well done to all the girls who put in a tremendous performance and well done to Listowel. We now play Beale /Ballyduff in the next round .

U16 Ladies Town League.
We played Kerins O Rahillys in our opening Town League game on Sunday in Ballyseedy and the girls shook off their defeat to Listowel last Thursday with a good win. Playing with the strong wind in first half we led at the short whistle 3-5 to 2 points. The second half saw Rahillys get back into the game but time ran out and Mitchels won on a score
4-9 to 3-5. Training next Thursday. Well done to all.
