McELLIGOTT  Cup – FINAL:
We had a fantastic win at home to Beaufort in the final of the McElligott cup on Saturday. We started brightly and an early goal from Mikey Walsh was quickly followed by points from Peter Murphy and Darcy Sullivan.

Beaufort settled into the game but some great defending restricted their scoring as we lead by 1-2 to a 0-1 after 15 minutes.

A fine individual goal by Conor Hurley and further points from Bryan  Costello and Cian O Brien saw us leading by 2-4 to 0-2 at half time.

Beaufort started the 2nd half much better and were rewarded with an early goal and some further points saw our lead reduced to 2-6 to 1-5 after 45 minutes.

Beaufort had a further chance of a goal at this stage but a fine save from Peter Nammock proved to be a turning point and a goal from Bryan Costello and further points through Cian Holden, Conor Hurley and Oliver Coffey saw us run out deserving winners on a final score of 3-10 to 1-6.

Well done to all involved in a great season which saw us win both the Co League and Co Championship.

STRICTLY COME DANCING:
We held our 2nd Strictly Come Dancing in Ballygarry House Hotel last Sunday evening.  The crowds poured in from 6.00 p.m. onwards such was the interest in the event.  The atmosphere was electric and each performance was outstanding.

Our Chairman Denis Mannix thanked all the dancers for their dedication over the last number of weeks including Laura O’Flaherty, Choreographer, the backroom team, the Judges, the Hotel and the many volunteers on the night who ensured that the night went off smoothly and lastly Brian Hurley MC who did a fantastic job on the night.

We were entertained during the Interval by a show stopping performance by Ena and Johnny O’Shea who were one of the Strictly acts from last year.

Denis then introduced the dancers one last time before announcing the winners Karen O’Connor and Brendan Dillane.

Their prize money of €500 each is being donated to Animal Health Net Kerry on behalf of Karen  and to Kerry Hospice on behalf of Brendan. SEE PHOTOS FROM THE EVENT HERE and HERE
