UNDER 12 GIRLS

Mitchel’s u12 Girls celebrate an unbelievable 2018
Our mighty Mitchel’s girls all came together on Saturday night 23rd February in our old club grounds in Chamfers to celebrate what was a brilliant 2018 for them!!

They not only won Division 4 of the county league, they also won the Tralee District Championship and against all the odds finished off the year winning the North Kerry Championship in what was literally a David v Goliath dinger of a final against Na Gael…

These girls are a very tight knit special group of players. Sometimes a lot smaller than their opponents, they rose to every occasion and fought for every ball and for each other. They really are a credit to their parents and our club and we are so very proud of them …

Special mention to all the parents and mentors James Donoghue and John Reidy who ensured our girls were looked after all year and who helped cultivate the special atmosphere in this group of young warriors.

Senior Team

Our senior team played Strand Road at home on Sunday in the last round of the Tralee Town league
Played in dry windy conditions both teams played fast open football with Strand Road leading at half time having played with the wind
Mitchel’s played with the wind in the second half but strand started the better and opened up a 6 point lead , Mitchel’s kept chipping away at the score and eventually a Niall Sheehy converted penalty added to an exciting last 5 mins with the game ebbing and flowing a Michael Kelliher Free levelled the game on the final whistle. This was a good open game of football and credit to both teams who fielded a young team
Well done to our Seniors who never gave up and we now look forward to our first county league game on March 10th at home to Glenbeigh

UNDER 10 Boys

Another top-notch training session on Sunday on the all-weather pitch. Paddy, Calvin, Daniel and Jack trained hard and put great effort and accuracy into the drills and placed pinpoint passes. Donnacha, Sean, Luke and Darragh caught great ball and distributed it very well. Jack, Rory, Ronan and all the rest of the lads played their heart out in the game and the commitment was easy to see and a pleasure to watch. Well done to all the lads who trained and to the U8’s who came up to train also, well done ye showed that ye can play at this level. Training again next Sunday and hope to see you all then.
