TABLE QUIZ

There was a good turnout for our recent pub quiz/juvenile fundraiser which was held in Gally’s Bar & Restaurant, Tralee on Friday night last.

The winners were Teresa Deane, Sean Deane, John McEniry and John O’Sullivan. A lot of close scores and a great night was had by all. Thanks to all who took part and also to Kieran Moriarty and his correctors who worked hard all evening.

UNDER 6’S

U6 boys and girls
Our U6 boys and girls train together every Sunday morning from 11 to 12 in our state-of-the-art sports hall under the watchful eyes of our numerous qualified coaches. Last Sunday we concentrated on our kicking and co-ordination skills. Among those to impress were Annalise, Finlay, Peggy, Corey and Ben. The best on show for ball hopping were Conaill, Nancy, Paige and Ethan. See you all next Sunday and don’t forget an EASTER EGG for everyone.

UNDER 8’S

John Mitchel’s U8 Boys had another great session last Sunday morning. The session started with a group warm up followed by a few fun games. After the fun games things got a bit competitive with a very enjoyable hand passing game with some great skills on show. Training continues for these age groups from 10.30am to 12.00pm outdoors in our astro pitch. Coach’s will be on site from 10.15am. All players must have GUM SHIELDS & be REGISTERED to be allowed to take part in any training session or games.

LADIES

U 16 Ladies: Our next game is away to Currow on Monday April 15th. We paly Kilcumin away on weds 17th at 6.15pmTraining continues on Thursdays at 7pm.New Players welcome.

U 18 Minor Ladies: Our next game is away to Dr Crokes. Training continues at 7 pm on Thursdays.

Senior Ladies : We travelled to Castlegregory to play Annascaul/Castlegregory in rd. 3 of the county league on Sunday last in wind swept castle .Mitchel’s won the toss and played with the strong wind getting off the mark early with points from Cliona, Niamh ,Rachel ,Jade and Sarah to establish a big lead  followed by a Cliona goal to take us in at the short whistle 1-15 to 0-0.

Our defence held really well and Kayleigh in goals pulled off 2 good saves in the first half. Injuries to Ciara and Patriz before half time meant we had to reshuffle, the second half saw Anna/Castle push at us from the throw but our defence lead by Ashleigh, Anna, Donna, Emma, Tanya and Niamh F kept the score to a minimum.

With our midfield and forwards pushing forward and a great pass by Ava to Niamh saw a fine goal scored. Well done to Sophie on her first senior debut and Rachel K back after injury. Overall a very fine performance by all saw us finish out winners.

Final Score Mitchel’s 2-18 Annascaul/Castlegreogory. Our next game is away to Listowel Emmets on Friday 19th April at 7.15pm in the Mary Jo Cup.

UNDER 14 BOYS

On Wednesday the 10th of April we played Dromid /Waterville in Dromid. Things didn’t go our way on the night losing out by 4points, the less said about the performance the better! This leaves us second in our group with a few improvements needed to win out which is well within us.

Our U14s won all their games on Saturday last at the U14 Feile Na Gael and are now through to the semifinals of Feile (Date/Venue tbc). Massive heart and determination was shown by our lads particularly against St Michaels Foilmore who had the bigger players but our lads literally put their bodies on the line to send us through to the semis.

CLOTHES COLLECTION:
