LADIES

U 16 Ladies

Our next game is at home to Glenflesk on Thursday 25th April at 7.30pm in Ballyseedy. New Players welcome.

U 18 Minor Ladies, our next game is away to Dr Crokes training continues at 7 pm on Thursdays.

Senior Ladies Mary Jo Curran league Rd 3.

John Mitchell senior ladies travelled to play Listowel emmets last Friday evening. A slight wind favoured the home team in the first half and a very competitive game was to follow  with every ball contested saw Listowel score 3 points on the trot before a Jade Powell free opened Mitchell’s scoring , Listowel continued to press but our backs stood tall Leona despite an injury kept emmets at bay with Mitchell’s  hitting a second point from Jade the game entered the second quarter where Listowel struck for a goal but our ladies dug deep with Anna and Simi working really hard and raiding from defence led to a point from Rachel K left the half time Listowel 1-3 Mitchels0-3.

The second half was an epic performance by both teams not for the feint hearted as each score was hard earned Listowel hit for a second goal and then missed a penalty.

Our players responded in true Mitchel s style heart, determination and no little skill saw us grind our way back into the game with a goal from Sarah and another by Jade pushed us a point up entering the last 5 mins Ava, Emma, Tanya Tara were defending superbly and with Kayleigh in goals coolness personified we contained Listowel to the minimum. Julie, Donna and Ruth kept up the pressure and after an epic finish we held on for a very well-deserved draw

Both teams gave it all and the final score of 2-6 to 2-6 was a great result. Well done ladies enjoy the Easter break. Training Thursdays and Sundays, next game at home to Dingle in the County League on May 12th.Best wishes to our Ladies recovering from injuries.
