UNDER 6 BOYS & GIRLS

Our U6 boys and girls continue training every Sunday from 11.00am to 12.00pm and they are all making fantastic progress and improving each week. Their hard work and excellent coaching are definitely paying off.

U8/U10 GIRLS

Due to the election count in the John Mitchel’s complex in Ballyseedy over the weekend, John Mitchel’s travelled to Balkyrickard, where our u8 & u10 girls played a number of games against our hosts Kerins O’Rahillys. This was the first competitive game for our girls against more experienced competition. Despite this, the Mitchel’s girls put on a great display and showed off the skills they have learned over the past few months. Ciara, Gia and Nadia never stopped running while the two Madisons worked hard throughout. Dionne and Courtney showed well for the ball while Sophie, Layla, Brooke and Sophia contributed well. Many thanks to our hosts, training will continue in Ballyseedy next Sunday.

UNDER 8 BOYS

John Mitchel’s U8 Boys were invited to Kerins O’Rahilys this week for some challenge games. Both sides had 3 teams of U8S which made it very competitive as well as making it easier for all players to get a touch on the ball. All games were played were very high energy & there was great skills on display from both sides, it’s great to see all the training paying off for these young lads. Our thanks to Kerins O’Rahilys for having us & organising a great morning of football & we look forward to inviting ye all up soon.

U10 BOYS

On Sunday we went to Kerins O’Rahillys with all our academy teams. We had two U10 teams with players like Sean, Calvin, Luke and Dylan putting on great displays of football, we came out on top of the games. Ronan, Jack, Darragh and Cody showed the level of commitment that we want to play with and lots of skill. Rory, Daniel, Eamon, Adam, David and Eamonn got some great scores and made great interceptions. As a whole both teams played very well and took some beautiful scores, there are a couple of things we can work on but we are really proud of the lads and if we keep working hard in training and playing well as a team there is a bright future in front of us.

UNDER 16 BOYS

Our 16 Boys were Victorious in their Central League Semi Final at Home Monday night v Laune Rangers in what must have been one of finest performances from a Mitchel’s u16 Team in this decade. An outstanding team performance and never say die attitude from goalkeeper to substitutes was pivotal to the team coming out on top. After a nervous start we got into out stride with an array of super scores and plays to gain the upper hand. A shaky start to the second half saw us on the back foot but a goalkeeper who did everything bar park a bus on the goal line and a backline who were tighter to their men then a bee to honey saw us once again kick into gear. The pace and fitness of our midfield and forward shone half way into the second half when the Rangers backline were put under serious pressure and near the end were cut apart to drive home the victory.

They now go on to seek revenge v Ballyheigue in the final date and time TBC but all support much appreciated for a great bunch of players. Training continues Monday and Wednesdays. Central League commences Monday week 6:30pm away to Ballyheigue. New players are more than welcome to show up.

We played Kenmare away last Saturday night in round 4 of the county league Div. 2.
