UNDER 6 BOYS
Our u6 boys and girls had a wonderful day last Sunday when we entertained our good friends from Kerins O Rahillys. A fun time was had by all and a great opportunity for everyone to meet and train together. Everyone played well and did their club proud. As we are nearly half way through the season could those who haven’t already paid their membership please do so now and you can give it to any of the coaches next Sunday. Remember, all monies go directly towards the juveniles. Training as usual next Sunday.

Parents will be notified via text during the week, until then kids keep on practicing. John Mitchel’s U8 Boy’s training continues every Sunday morning from 10.30am to 12.00pm

All newcomers welcome!!

UNDER 8 & U/10 GIRLS

The John Mitchel’s girls were invited to take part in the North Kerry Ladies U-10 Go Games which were held in Ballyrickard on Sunday last. Despite the cold wet weather, we had a good turnout and the weather soon cleared up as the girls put on a great display of football.

Our first game was against Finuge/St Senans, with captain for the day, Ciara and Sadhbh playing some excellent ball forward as soon as they got it, with Ella and Sophie working hard in attack. Defensively, Ava, Millie and Madison were outstanding, while the rolling substitutions saw the rest of the squad all play their party, with Sophia, Hannah and Maddison all coming on to add to the effort.

After a short break it was the hosts, Kerins O’Rahillys who provided the opposition in the next game. Once more the effort and skills by the Mitchel’s girls were to the fore, against a tough opposition. Nadia shone throughout the game, with Courtney in fantastic form and Ella and Gia also putting it up to our town rivals.

No time for a rest as the final game took place immediately afterwards against Duagh, with Bree working hard, while in goals, Ava stood out, with her kick outs finding a team mate all the time.

Great credit is due to the team, who transferred their skills from the training ground to the playing field. Thanks too to the Kerins O’Rahillys club for hosting the event and the North Kerry ladies board for organizing a well-run tournament and supplying medals to all teams.

U10 BOYS

We had another great week of football last week. Firstly, we had the Go games at Na Gael and then we hosted Kerins O Rahillys at home.

Both days were a great show of football and teamwork with Luke, Jack, Darragh, Sean and Rory putting together great passing and scores. Ronan, Paddy, Daniel, Eanon and Cody tackled hard and with passion and got some great team scores.

Adrian joined us and showed that he has great potential and has good skills and great passion, well done. To all the other players well done ye did yourselves and the coaches proud, we definitely see your improvement, keep it up.

There were a number of younger players with us as well like Eddie, Tadhg, Liam and Riobard and others showing that our upcoming footballers have the talent to keep the great quality football going. Well done again to all and there will be training again next Sunday.

With scores from Niall Sheehy, Alan O Donoghue, Michael Kelliher and Shane O Connor pushed us 0-8 to 0-4 after 22 mins but then lost control to Ballymac going in at half time 09 to 0-6 in front.

The second half saw Ballymac add on 3 points to make it a 2-point game before Mitchel’s added a further 2 points from Alan and Michael score 0-13 Mitchel’s Ballymac 0-9 after 52 mins, we lost our way at this juncture and levelled with a goal after 55 mins from here to the end we struggled to break away and Ballymac had their tails up and pushed on to take a 4-point lead coming into the final minutes.
