UNDER 6 BOYS AND GIRLS
our u6 boys and girls continue training every Sunday from 11 to 12 and they are all making fantastic progress and improving each week. Their hard work and excellent coaching are definitely paying off. Playing particularly
well last Sunday were Finlay, Brian, Ben Luke, Nancy, Clodagh, Caoimhe, Lily and Freya. Keep up the good work everyone.

UNDER 8 BOYS

Hi everyone John Mitchel’s U8 Boy’s had another great turn out this week with nearly 30 players raring to go. The session started with some stretching; running & some sprints quickly followed by ball work & skills practice.

Next week will see us back to our juvenile pitch for training & don’t forget folks we have lots of blitz’s coming so kids keep on practicing!!

Training continues every Sunday morning 10.30am to 12.00 everyone welcome.

LADIES
Senior ladies

We play Abbeydorney Away in the next round of the county league on Sunday 23rd June. Training continues on Mondays and Thursdays at 7pm.

Well done to Ashleigh Murphy and Sarah Kilgallen who played with the Kerry U21 ladies in the Munster League against Cork recently.

Junior County League Rd 6.

Our Juniors played Knocknagoshel away last Sunday in RD 6 of the county league it was a very exciting game from start to finish, Mitchel’s were down at half time 1-06 to 0-4 and despite our best efforts

Were unable to breakdown the home team’s defence Final Score Mitchel’s 1-6 Knocknagoshel 1-10 Next game in

Rd 7 (H) to Asdee on w/e June 30th.

Seniors

We played Castleisland Desmonds at home last Saturday evening in Round 6 of the senior co lge Div 2 in ideal conditions. Mitchel’s took an early lead in the game through Niall Sheehy but Desmonds slowly ground our way into the match

Leaving half time score Mitchel’s 0-7 Desmonds 0-6 with Alan O Donoghue off injured. Second half was nip and tuck with sides level on 12 points each on 57 mins before Desmonds struck for 2 points and a match winning goal

Final Score Mitchel’s 0-12 Desmonds 2-14.in at half time 09 to 0-6 in front.

Scores Alan O Donoghue 0-2,Nial Sheehy,0-3, Michael Kelliher 0-3, Shane O Connor 0-2 Michael Wren 0-2.The focus now is on our next game.

JOHN MITCHEL’S SUMMER CAMP

Our annual summer camp will take place Monday 15th July until Friday 19th July, Mentors/Trainers Please advise your groups, more details to follow.

SPLIT THE BUCKET

A new fund-raising initiative, known as ‘Split the Bucket’ has begun on Sunday Mornings at Juvenile training. You quite simply put €2 in an envelope with your name and phone number and place in the bucket. The winner gets 50% of the total collected, with the other 50% going to the Clubs juvenile development fund.

Oliver Coffey has now taken over the running of the Gym at John Mitchel’s Sports Complex. For more details regarding facilities, membership options, and fitness programs to suit all, contact Oliver on 086 1939534.

CLOTHES COLLECTION:

We have joined up with St Vincent De Paul to rise much needed funds for both John Mitchel’s and SVP. By donating your second-hand clothes and unwanted items, not only will you be freeing up space in your home, you will also be making a difference to people in need, in your community.

We now have an SVP clothes bank in our car park at our state-of-the-art sports facility in Ballyseedy.

NEW WALKWAY

A fantastic new facility has now been added at our grounds in Ballyseedy.
A new walkway/jogging path approx. 1km long has been laid, complete with bollard level lighting.
Come and enjoy a fabulous experience in a safe and healthy environment.
This community facility is open to all and is free for a limited opening period. A reasonable membership fee may apply at a later date.
THIS IS A SMOKE-FREE ZONE
A STRICT NO DOGS – NO CYCLING OR NO STUDDED FOOTBALL BOOTS rule applies to the walkways.

BINGO:

Our bingo continues on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday nights @ 8.30pm in our premises on the John Joe Sheehy Road. Bingo is a vital fundraiser for the club and all funds raised from the bingo goes directly back into the club and all support is greatly appreciated. Any member who wishes to volunteer can do so by giving their details to any club officer.

JOHN MITCHEL’S SPORTS COMPLEX:

Our sports complex at Camp Ballyseedy is available for bookings on the Sports Hall and All-Weather pitch. The complex is also open for children’s parties. For further information contact the club reception on 066 7197070.

MERCHANDISE:

Please note that all club merchandise is now available for purchasing only through Hennebery’s sports shop, Ashe St. Tralee and is no longer for sale at our complex in Ballyseedy. Please also note that our club colours are – green and gold jerseys, white togs and green and gold socks.
