UNDER 6 BOYS & GIRLS

After our third week back training all the boys and girls are in full swing and showing great promise. With even bigger numbers this year we are guaranteed to have a fantastic season. Last Sunday we concentrated on the basic skills of the game. Among those to impress were Noah, Ben Lauren, Nancy, Geremi and Mia. Keep up the good work and we will see you all next Sunday. Anymore newcomers very welcome

UNDER 8 BOYS

John Mitchel’s Sunday Morning Juvenile Academy returned last week & despite the bad weather numbers were strong.

All juvenile age groups were in doors in the safety of our sports hall where all age groups were raring to get going. John Mitchel’s U8 Boy’s training continues every Sunday morning from 10.00am to 11.00pm in our sports hall, All newcomers welcome.

UNDER 8 & 10 GIRLS

While the Kerry senior footballers were playing later in the day in Fitzgerald Stadium, there were plenty of skills on offer in Ballyseedy on Sunday morning from the John Mitchel’s u8/10 girls.

Once more there was an excellent turnout and the girls had clearly been practicing their skills at home during the week.An early warm-up was followed by some competitive drills, including running with the ball, hand passing and other games.

These are all designed to get the players more comfortable using the ball in crowded situations, simulating games. The session finished with a lively game, with all the girls showing off their competitive nature.

Training continues on Sunday morning from 10-11am.

UNDER 10 BOYS

Our boys are tough out & the first chance they got after the recent storms they were outside on the astro pitch last Sunday morning. They were put through their paces with some pickups, hand passing & soloing by the coaches which was followed by a game. Hopefully the weather will improve enough to let us go on the astro pitch every week so bring boots & another top just in case.

Training continues every Sunday morning from 10am to 11am. All new players are very welcome to come up & give it a go; everyone has to start somewhere & you’re guaranteed to have fun & make new friends.

UNDER 12s & U14s

Training continued for the John Mitchel’s U12s and U14s girls last Sunday afternoon. Great training again by all the girls with the new girls settling in really well and new faces arriving again this week.

Despite a really terrible week of weather, we had perfect training conditions due to the availability of the Astro pitch at the complex. The girls were positive and energized, and U12s are looking forward to their season opener at the end of March against Churchill in the North Kerry League.

Next training for both groups is this Thursday evening, 27th Feb at 6pm-7pm, All girls are welcome to come along.
