UNDER 8’S

John Mitchels U8 Boy’s had another great session on Sunday last. We couldn’t have asked for a better day with the sun splitting the stones. The session started off with some stretching & quickly followed by some ball work. Great to see their skills improving every week but in order to keep improving kids you have to keep practicing at home as well!! John Mitchels U8 & U10 Boy’s & Girl’s training continues every Sunday morning from 10.30am to 11.30am EVERYONE WELCOME!! Our Motto is Fun First.

UNDER 8 & 10s GIRLS

With fantastic weather at Ballyseedy on Sunday morning, the u8 and u10 girls showed up ready for action on the juvenile pitch.

This was the first time this year that the team had trained on grass and they quickly got used to the different surface, with some quick passing drills sharpening their touch and getting them into the rhythm. Millie, Hannah, Grace and Ciara were on top form, while Maddison, Ava, Kate and Clodagh showed deft touches on the ball. Following drills, the last half hour saw a game take place among the girls, with emphasis on handpassing and possession.

Emily grabbed a couple of good scores, while at the other end Aeibhin showed well for the ball and kicked two lovely scores. Leila worked had in defence, while Jenny worked hard to keep her marker away from goal.

Training continues in Ballyseedy on Sunday mornings at 10.30am and newcomers are more than welcome.

UNDER 10 BOYS

Despite the good beach weather & people on holidays we had a good turnout last Sunday morning at training. After a warm up of soloing & hand passing drills we did some stretching to get the boys loosened up.

They then did a two man shooting drill which involving the tackle bags which is always a favourite. We finished off with the usual highly competitive game which was very enjoyable. Some of these lads have improved their ball skills immensely over the past four weeks.

We hope to have a few challenge games in the next few weeks but we’ll let you know the details well in advance. Training as usual next Sunday morning from 10.30 to 11.30 , any new players are very welcome to attend.

U12’s

Our near neighbours, Austin Stacks were our opponents last Sunday in the final game of phase 1 of the u12 County League. Local derbies are always hard fought battles and this was no exception, our “Green” team holding on to win by 9 points at the final whistle but this game was very much in the melting pot in the final quarter and could have gone either way.

Kudos to our boys for battling hard to secure the win. The “Gold” team were also in action against the Rock. We started strong, leading early and never letting that lead slip. A young Stacks team worked hard but we were the stronger on the night.

It was a great evenings football at Camp with all teams playing some great football in tricky, windy conditions. Credit to all concerned, not forgetting our referees who handled both games immaculately. Both Green and Gold teams have topped their respective tables, unbeaten with 3 wins each in phase 1.

The next phase sees the groups reseeded, with us facing Rathmore, Fossa, Dr Crokes, Laune Rangers and Churchill in Division 1 of the County League, a huge achievement for the team. First round is away to Laune Rangers at 6pm on Sunday, August 16th – all support welcome!

Training Tuesday and Thursday at 5.45. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

U16’s

Our U16 Boys have two games played in the County League so far resulting in one win and one loss, one game to play next Monday V Churchill , training continues Monday and Friday 6pm.
