UNDER 6 BOYS & GIRLS

Our under 6 boys and girls turned out in huge numbers last Sunday. Luckily our astroturf pitch was able to accommodate a very successful training session . We all had a very positive experience and the highlight was the very popular obstacle race . See every next Sunday

UNDER 8 BOYS

John Mitchels U8 Boy’s had a great morning of Exercise & Kicking Ball on Sunday last. Unfortunately we are under level 3 COVID-19 Guidelines & we are unable to play games or have any contact until further notice but we can in small groups Kick, Handpass, Run & get plenty of exercise!! Our next session is Thursday Evening from 5.30pm to 7.45pm hope to see you there thanks.

UNDER 8 & 10 GIRLS

Once more the weather was in our favour in Ballyseedy on Sunday morning, as a large bunch of girls turned up for u8 and u10 training, in warm, sunny conditions.
And there was plenty of work to do during the training session, despite the latest restrictions preventing close contact. That didn’t matter to the coaches, Padraig and Caroline, assisted by Sadhbh and Sean, who put the girls through a series of tough drills, designed to be carried out at speed and improve the fundamentals of the girls, particularly their hand passing and kicking.

Splitting the girls into two competing groups really got the competitive juices flowing, and with the losers of each drill having to complete a punishment dreamed up by the winning side, there were some unusual sights during training. It was clear that the girls have been working on their skills at home, with some good ball handling, passing and kicking, with the final shooting drill showing some excellent scoring ability.

Throughout the training session, Grace, Ava, Roisin, Hannah, Millie and Maddison never stopped running, with Jenny, Aeibhin, Saoirse, Emma, Ava, Leila, Aeidin and Aisling all proving the importance of practising at home, with some excellent shooting. Training continues next Sunday in Ballyseedy at 10.30am.

UNDER 10 BOYS

We had great turnouts again for training last Thursday evening & Sunday morning. The Thursday session is proving to be a great hit & we will probably carry on for a few more weeks as long as the current Covid19 restrictions allow us to do so. We enjoyed another good session on Sunday morning in glorious sunshine. The lads were kept going on their skills & shooting & even though they couldn’t have a game due to non-contact restrictions they went home happy & tired. Training this week is on the astro on Thursday from 5.30pm to 6.45pm & Sunday 10.30am to 11am.

UNDER 12’s

Last Thursday we had a visit from Tom Joy, GAA Development Officer from Kerry GAA. Tom was very impressed with the skills shown and our lads really enjoyed the session.

U12 training continues this week Tuesday and Thursday at 5.30pm. Thursday will be our final session for 2020 so we hope to see everybody at training this week.

John Mitchel’s Girl’s training continues every Wednesday evening

U12S 6.00pm to 7.00pm

U14S 7.00pm to 8.00pm
