UNDER 7 BOYS & GIRLS

71 boys and girls, all superstars, trained in glorious sunshine at our academy Sunday morning.  A great time was had by all and it’s wonderful to watch the progress of our footballers. We trained in our pods and adhered to current guidelines.  Dodge ball was the favourite game with the coaches as targets.

Laoch na himeartha was awarded to Ben Foley who despite a bloodied nose, returned to training with great enthusiasm.

Training continues this Sunday at 11am and as ever new members always welcome.

Don’t forget to fill out the return to play form before each session.

U8/U10 GIRLS

We had a great turnout on Sunday in the glorious sunshine and got straight down to business with the help of John Reidy U14-16 coach, as coach Padraig was off getting his vaccine and was missed by all the girls. John, Tanya and Ruth took them through the basics again of four steps hop and solo and it was put into practice soon enough where we could see an improvement in the girls. Madison Lucy Ava Brooke and Clodagh were asked to pose for a photo shoot and we look forward to seeing them in the paper this week. Emma fought hard this week in our possession game and showed great strength on the ball.  Tegan, the two Roisin’s, Ellie Mae, Karolina, Natalia, Millie the two Aine’s, Noelle Nicole, Ella, Siun, Lucy, Caoimhe, Ally Saoirse, and Amelia showed great improvements in the game we had at the end. They were all asked to practice during the week before our next session

Training continues at 10.30am next Sunday morning in the John Mitchel’s Complex. All are welcome, and we’d love to see more new faces.

Don’t forget to fill out the return to play form before each session.

Newcomers always welcome.

UNDER 9 BOYS

John Mitchel’s U9 Boys had a fantastic day weather wise on Sunday Morning last to train, the session started with our usual Stretching followed by a light jog.

Then it was time for ball work & skills & needless to say the coaches are very happy with the way our Boys are improving but at the same time it’s just as important to keep practicing at home!! 10 to 15mins every day without fail.

Under 9 boys training continues every Sunday in john Mitchel’s juvenile academy from 10.30 -11.30 coaches on site from 10.15. Don’t forget to fill out the return to play form before each session

All newcomers Welcome.

UNDER 11 BOYS

We had another great turnout at training last Sunday morning in glorious sunshine. After a quick warmup the lads went into some passing & kicking drills with the mentors. The lads are really enjoying the football & can’t wait for the games to start. Training continues every Sunday morning & any new players are more than welcome to try it out from 10.15 to 11.30. The mentors are on site from 10 so no problem if you want to drop players off early. The county league go games start on Thursday evening June 10th & sees us away to Listowel. Unfortunately due to Covid19  it’s not possible hire busses so parents will have to bring the players to the venues. Most of the away games are local so Listowel is the furthest away venue. More details to follow next week.

A fantastic new facility has now been added at our grounds in Ballyseedy.

Come and enjoy a fabulous experience in a safe and healthy environment.
This community facility is open to all and is free for a limited opening period. A reasonable membership fee may apply at a later date.

A STRICT NO DOGS – NO CYCLING OR NO STUDDED FOOTBALL BOOTS rule applies to the walkways.
A hearty, healthy John Mitchel’s welcome awaits you.

BINGO:

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 we are unable to hold any bingo. We held two outdoor bingo nights last year which were a great success. We were out in the cold and the rain but was worth it for much needed funds for the club. We will inform you of any outdoor bingo nights in the future and look forward to welcoming all bingo lovers back again.

Thanks to all the bingo ladies who put in the hard work and all who helped out with the running of them also.
